Fri May 9-Sunday May 11 -- Trillium Festival, Rustic Road Gallery, Stockholm & Maiden Rock, WI


Join Wild Birds Unlimited of Woodbury, Cooper Hansen Nature Photography and the
Rustic Road Gallery for a weekend of guest speakers, wildflower viewing, book signing,
maple syrup tasting, nature walks, and informative presentations on gardening for nature,
warblers in the Driftless, and Bird-Friendly Design. Keynote Speaker Doug Tallamy,
author of "Nature's Best Hope" will speak Friday evening and sign copies of his book on

Saturday May 10 -- Make Your Own Spring Seed Blend, Wild Birds Unlimited of Woodbury, 10 AM - 3 PM


Craft your own seed blend for spring. Blend together ingredients your birds will love and
will provide the nutrition they nest during migration and nesting season. Also makes a
unique Mother's Day gift! We'll supply the ingredients and advice, you bring creativity.
Cost is $2.00 per one-pound bag of seed to cover cost of seed and materials. Drop by
the store anytime between 10AM and 3PM to participate. All ages welcome!


Saturday, May 10 -- Global Big Day. All Day


Participate with millions of birders around the world in the biggest bird watching event in
the world!, the Global Big Day! Timed to coincide with the peak of spring migration when
bird numbers are at their peak.To participate, just go out anytime between Midnight on
May 9 and Midnight on May 10 and record all the birds you see or hear on e-Bird. You
can bird as many times as you like during the 24-hour period and contribute to the
growing body of data on bird species and numbers and habitat, collected by you!

Sunday, May 11 -- Wild Birds Unlimited Mother's Day Bird Walk, Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 8:30-10 AM


Join us for a Mother's Day morning walk on the Eagle Point Lake Trail at Lake Elmo Park
Reserve at the peak of spring migration to celebrate Moms and Mama Birds! Meet at the
Eagle Point Lake Trailhead (first left turn after the park entrance station on) and we'll
make a loop through the oak woods, prairie, and lake edge. Nearly all of our migratory
and resident birds should be present including a pair of nesting osprey. Expect to see or
hear 40 or 50+ species. Bird walk is free and open to all ages, but a $7.00 per vehicle
entrance fee or annual pass to the park is required.


Saturday May 17 -- Twin Cities Bird Festival, Mississippi Gateway Regional Park, 10360 River Road,
Brooklyn Park, 10 AM - 2PM
This is a freeand kid-friendly event to celebrate the srrival of our spring birds and World
Migratory Bird Day. Held along the Mississippi River at one of the region;s birding
hotspots, the event inckudes, guide bird walks, live raptors, bird watching, and learning
how to care for wild birds
