Sharing the joy of birds and nature is at the core of everything we do at Wild Birds Unlimited. We love playing an active role in our community by hosting bird walks, educational presentations, and other events. Check out what we have coming up and call the store for more details!
FEBRUARY 3 -- NATIONAL FEED THE BIRDS DAY
Feed the Birds Day celebrates winter bird feeding and reminds us to take care of birds
with food, water, and shelter at a time of the winter when birds’ stores of food start running
out.
FEBRUARY 3 -- BIRDSPOTTER 2025 PHOTO CONTEST, ENTER BY FEBRUARY 3, 2025
Showcase your photography skills by submitting your best bird photo for your chance to
win prizes! Entries may be submitted between December 11, 2024, through February 3,
2025. Our teams at Wild Birds Unlimited and The Cornell Lab of Ornithology will carefully
select the top 10 entries. Once the finalists are chosen, it’s your turn to weigh in! Cast
your vote to help determine the winners of the Bird Spotter Photo Contest. Keep an eye
out for the voting announcement coming later in February.
FEBRUARY 8 -- WASHINGTON COUNTY GUIDED BIRD WALK, PINE POINT REGIONAL PARK,
9:00-10:30 AM
Missing our bird walks now that winter is here? Join one of Washington County Parks
monthly bird walks, held each month at a different Washington County park and guided by
a park naturalist. For February, the bird walk is at Pine Point Regional Park west of
Stillwater.
FEBRUARY 8 -- OWL PROWL, INTERNATIONAL OWL CENTER, HOUSTON, MINNESOTA, 4:30 PM
Join experts from the Intenrational Owl Center to learn about and learn to call in local owls
such as barred, great horned and eastern screech owls in their territories. Register for
this and future owl prowls or the International Festival of Owls in March at https://

FEBRUARY 15 -- WILD BIRDS UNLIMITED GUIDED BIRD WALK, 9AM-10:30 AM, LAKE ELMO PARK
RESERVE, EAGLE POINT LAKE TRAILHEAD
Join us for a winter morning bird walk at Lake Elmo Park, where we'll look for resident
over-wintering birds, including eastern bluebirds, nesting owls...and we'll seek out the
earliest of our "spring" birds. Meet at the Eagle Point Lake Trailhead.
FEBRUARY 14-17 -- GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT
Sign up now to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count, the premier citizen science
bird count focused on winter bird feeding globally. Sign up to count birds in your own
yard or participate in a community count event or drop by the store and participate in

MARCH 1-2 -- MASTERS OF THE SKY WEEKEND, CARPENTER NATURE CENTER, HASTINGS,
Educators and birds from the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Missouri, will be
coming to Carpenter to present a captivating program about birds of prey. Learn about
eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls from around the world and see them close up.
Witness the silent flight of a Barn Owl and be amazed at the aerial maneuverability of a
