Sharing the joy of birds and nature is at the core of everything we do at Wild Birds Unlimited. We love playing an active role in our community by hosting bird walks, educational presentations, and other events. Check out what we have coming up and call the store for more details!

Saturday, September 14: Fall Migration Bird Walk, Lake Elmo Park Reserve, 8:30-10 AM

Join us for one of two fall migration bird walks this month at Lake Elmo Park Reserve.  Park and meet at the Nordic Cdnter Trailhead and we'll make a couple of loops through oak woodlands, prairie, and wetlands to see wehat birds are moving through at one of the peak times for fall migration.  Open to all ages, no registration necessary.  Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair of Vortex binoculars from us.  Dress for thge weather and bring your own water and any snacks you'll want.  Washington County park day permit or annual park pass required for entry.

Friday, September 20- Sunday, September 22:  Hawk Ridge Hawk Weekend Festival 2024, All weekend

See up close one of the great birding spectacles of North American at Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory in Duluth, Minnesota.  Held at the peak of broad-winged hawk migration, you can often see kettles of hawks numbering in the thousands passing overhead while 25,000-150,000 will pass during the course of the month.  Presentations, tours, bird counts, and bird banding, and more.  See schedule of events and register here to reserve your place:  https://www.hawkridge.org/event/hawk-weekend-festival-2024/

Saturday, September 21:  Fall Migration Bird Walk, Cottage Grove Ravines Park Reserve, 8:30-10 AM

Join us for our second fall migration bird walk at Cottage Grove Ravines Park Reserve.  We'll meet in the parking lot next to Ravine Lake and mnake a loop around the lake, and up into the ravines.  Open to all ages, no registration necessary. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair of Vortex binoculars from us. Dress for thge weather and bring your own water and any snacks you'll want.  Washington County park day permit or annual park pass required for entry.

Saturday, September 28:  Make your own Fall Seed Blend, Wild Birds Unlimited of Woodbury, 10 AM - 4 PM.  

Whether you are getting your birds ready for cooler temperatures, getting prepared for the arrival of juncos or just want to create a custom bird food blend that's ideal for fall, drop by the store anytime between 10 AM and 4PM and we'll have all the incredients yuo need to make your own blend.  Cost for the event is $3.00 to cover the ingredients and materials. Open to all ages, no registration needed, just drop by the store any time during the day.
